In 2004 the Kalamazoo Area Runners will administer the “Kalamazoo Area Runners Club Championships.” All club members are automatically enrolled in the championships. Non-club members cannot participate.

The championships consist of a ranking system maintained by KAR based on individual finishes at local races. Rankings will be done within the traditional 5 year age groups. An awards ceremony will be held at the end of the season.

Races in the series include:

• Borgess Half Marathon
• Borgess 5K
• Cereal City 5K
• Cereal City 10K
• Kalamazoo Klassic 5K
• Kalamazoo Klassic 10K
• Lindsay's Race
• Schoolcraft Firecracker 5M
• Kindleberger 5K
• PCOC 5K
• PCOC 10K

Points for each race will be determined as follows:

Time points = winner time/runner time * 100
Time points will be added for each runner’s best 4 races
Participation points = 2 for 5th – 7th race, 3 for 8th and more
